10 day’s post op

Wow the body is an amazing thing for recovery.  Lucy is adjusting to her new normal.  Although she tires easily and we have yet to try a short walk,  I do make sure I get her outside every 4-5 hours to stretch her tripawds and listen to the sounds of outdoors.  I think that if I did not encourage (strongly encourage) her to move, she would choose not to get up much at all.  She does seem comfortable and we are slowly weaning the Tramadol.  Tomorrow is our oncology appointment.  Will do a little research today as to what to expect…Thanks Tripwads site for being here…

Lovely Lucy

  1. Wow! Lucy looks great just lounging there so pretty. I remember those first couple of weeks I needed to push my little one to get her fanny out of the bed. She looks awesome. Let us know what the oncologists says about her chemo etc. Keep it up Lucy!!

  2. This is just wonderful news… And I just Love the photograph of your beautiful Lucy enjoying summer!

I’m sure your appointment will go well with your oncologist tomorrow. Our doctor is very caring and dedicated. Hunter just had his 4th chemo treatment last week Thursday and he seems to do just fine each time, thank God. He gets IV carboplatin and has tolerated it very well. (takes about 15 minutes… there are photos on Hunter’s blog) We are going for a total of 6 treatments and then going to consider metronomic chemotherapy, which is a lower dose of chemo, given every day in pill form. You may want to ask about that tomorrow.

If your dog loves people, the chemo appointments will go just fine! Please take comfort in knowing that so many people are supporting you and Lucy through your journey to fight cancer.

  3. Lucy is so stylish with her t-shirts, just lounging on the grass! I love it and I did the same thing with Lupe’s t-shirts. She didn’t know and didnt’ care what was on them, but I did 🙂

Paws are crossed that she continues to heal and that the appointment goes well tomorrow! She is a beautiful girl!!!

  4. Oh she looks so happy! And pretty too.

Good luck with the onco doc tomorrow. You’re so lucky for being near one, there aren’t a lot of those docs around. remember to ask tons of questions and write down your answers so you can remember what was said after the appointment. Good luck and keep us posted!
